After the DC success that is Superman: Doomsday, DC has been working on their next straight to DVD animated film, Justice League: The New Frontier.

For those who don’t know, The New Frontier is a story that probes into the origin of the Justice League and its 6 main leaders, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern and the Martian Manhunter. The heroes must ally themselves with one another to stop an evil so powerful that not even Superman can stop it and if they don’t succeed it would mean the end of humanity.

“We are going to honor as many characters as possible. The decision has been made, however, that where the story calls for it, we are not going to have just a random ‘Joe Blow.’ It will be somebody,” said Gregory Noveck, one of the producers.

After reading that, it sounds like they are trying to take some steps to make sure that this film will be a success. DC also just released a preview trailer today that has me anticipating it’s release. If you would like to view the trailer, you can find here.

Justice League: The New Frontier is dated for release on February 28, 2008 so be sure to mark that day on your calenders.
