2007 was a pretty big year for not only this blog but for comics as well. Marvel’s Civil War wrapped up earlier this year and paved the way for the slightly less important World War Hulk epic which took place a couple months back. As for DC, we saw 52 wrap up in May leading to the beginning of Countdown which will ultimately take us to 2008’s Final Crisis. In addition to Countdown, 52 also had several new titles released in it’s wake such as Booster Gold.
2007 was a big year for Panels of Awesome. The blog started in August and has gotten, in my opinion, better as time has gone on. That being said, it seems only fair that I take a couple minutes of your time and go over some of the bigger highlights of 2007 as well as some of the better posts and entries throughout the year!
The very first entry!
Obviously, the biggest highlight this year was the actual creation of the site. This started with my original post regarding the Thor relaunch back in August.
Here’s the original post that got the ball rolling.
November’s Record Hits!
This past November, Panels of Awesome’s hits reached a record of almost 500 unique hits in a single day!
New Affiliates and Friends!
I’ve found several other blogs this past year full of great commentary and thoughts on the world of comics. A number of the people who run these sites have been so kind as to check out POA and even leave some comments.
What does the future hold for POA in 2008? World domination? Self-destruction? Cataclysmic failure? We’ll just have to wait and see. Thanks to everyone for checking out Panels of Awesome and making it a great 2007. Hopefully you had a great year and I wish you all a Happy New Year!
