Mike's love for Spider-Man knows no bounds. He is the owner, principal writer, janitor and editor for Panels of Awesome and any of the other sites under the POA umbrella. Fear his rule.

Amazing Spider-Man #547

I’ve really taken to Slott’s humor and writing style. I’ll be honest, I hadn’t read much by him before and was pretty much expecting his run to be about as exciting as anyone else’s but he’s really found a way to stand out from the rest by combining a Spider-Man style humor with really intelligent writing. He makes transitions during the comic to focus on all the characters and doesn’t make things overly complicated. This issue actually had a main plot with a couple side plots and still managed to seamlessly mesh them all without being confusing. Another strong outing by Dan Slott.

Like I said during my review of ASM #546, Steve McNiven’s work is fantastic. Very detailed characters with a great support on inks and colors by Vines and Hallowell. I honestly don’t think McNiven could draw a bad panel to save his life. This issue just builds off of the great start he had during ASM #546.

Amazing Spider-Man #547
★★★★★★★★★☆
8.9/10 (How’d you get that?)

Great storytelling with a beautiful presentation through the art. This issue definitely lives up to the previous one and even manages to surpass it in terms of action and overall story. Next issue wraps up the first arc of this Brand New Day and leads into the next team of writers and artists. Will Slott and McNiven manage to keep our attention until Marc Guggenheim and Salvador Larroca take over on issue #549? Let’s just say I’d be surprised if they didn’t.
