New Avengers #38Seems like lately, Marvel's been having a really big problem with characters being happy and staying married. First Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson and now Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. The sad part about this breakup, scheduled to take place in New Avengers #38 unless I'm mistaken, is that the pair haven't been married for very long and they have a child together. It's a shame really. Then again, one of them is probably a skrull so the couple will probably stay together in the post-Secret Invasion world...if the world still exists.

On one hand, it's hard to see a couple who was married during last year's New Avengers Annual break up so soon. On the other hand, you have to remember that this is Luke Cage and Jessica Jones we're talking about. A lot of people didn't even know the two were married in the first place since most of their stories take a backseat to, you know, important things like fighting ninjas, figuring out who's a Skrull and who's not and of coarse battling The Hood and his army of supervillains.

Is this a good move by Bendis and Marvel to break up the two characters? It's hard to say. If it gets in the way of any actual storytelling or battles, it'll be a bad thing. The two characters are, in my opinion, far too minor to actually gather any sort of attention or interest from most readers and, like I said earlier, I'm about 99.4% sure that one of them will actually turn out to be a Skrull. Hell, their baby is a skrull so who's to say that Jessica Jones hasn't been a Skrull since the time her and Cage had the baby and they're produced some sort of bizarre human-skrull hybrid that will destroy not only the entire world but my interest in the New Avengers title all together?!

I really hate skrulls.

New Avengers #38 goes on sale next week, which is the 13th of February, and guest-stars the Mighty Avengers.

Review - One More Day #3 (SSM#41)
At long last, following a solid 30 day delay, Sensational Spider-Man #41 finally hits shelves and continues the controversial One More Day story arc. Was it worth the wait? Kinda. To bring you up to speed, Pete's aunt is dying. He's...

    Oh, that’s sad. :(

Maybe they should visit Clark and Lois. :P Or maybe Aquaman and his wife. They have a very strong marriage.

On the topic of skrulls, Ms. Marvel has confused me with her latest issue.
