Awful Artwork - Wolverine Gone Bad II

It’s that time once again to take a look at some of comic culture’s worst artistic blunders. I’m sure many artists out there probably cringe just looking at this stuff but I, on the other hand, think it’s pretty darn funny.

About this author:

Mike's love for Spider-Man knows no bounds. He is the owner, principal writer, janitor and editor for Panels of Awesome and any of the other sites under the POA umbrella. Fear his rule.

Living up to my word, we won’t be taking a look at another piece of classic artwork by Rob Liefeld. This time, I present to you a drawing done by none other than Marvel’s own EIC Joe Quesada. Is it just me or does Wolverine seem to get terrible treatment by a number of artists? This is, I believe, the second time already that he’s appeared in this category of terrible art.

Wolverine…by Joe Quesada

While this is hardly the worst drawing of Wolverine I’ve ever seen, there’s something not quite right about…everything. He’s too big, his claws look ridiculously too small and his face looks like he’s trying to pass a kidney stone. Ouch.

I’m warning you now, I’ve got some more Liefeld lined up for future installments so you better strap yourselves in. It only goes down from here.

If you’ve got some horrible comic book artwork that you think should be here, let us know. We’re always looking for new stuff!

The lines on his face make me really uncomfortable.

Doesn’t look like he’s having a very good time, that’s for sure.

Yeah…..it’s very disproportioned. His left fist dosn’t look turned upside down; it looks like it grew out of his arm upside down. And it just dosn’t look like it should overlap his left leg like that/it’s not realistic. A very adward pose.

Claws are kinda…well, let’s face it: not cool looking.
