Welcome back one and all to the Awesome Arena! When we last witnessed the intense action of competition, we saw Batman defeat Iron Man by a measly 7 votes which means that the Dark Knight will move on to the second round to take on the winner of today's battle! If you're wondering what the current ladder looks like, here's a peek. Otherwise, let's take a look at the competitors, shall we?

Combatant #1 - Martian Manhunter

First Appearance:
Detective Comics #225 (November 1955)

Background:
J'onn J'onzz was accidentally teleported to Earth, from Mars, by Dr. Mark Erdel who died moments after the teleportation took place. Manhunter, using his shape-shifting powers, takes on the appearance of the Doctor and conducts his business in the shadows until he finally reveals himself to the world and becomes a part of the Justice League of America. Currently, Manhunter's place in the DCU is almost non-existent following his role in WWIII.

Powers & Abilities:

• Superhuman strength, speed, durability, flight and longevity
• Telepathy
• Shape-shifting
• Martian vision (The ability to see through solid objects/generate optic heat beams>

Combatant #2 - Flash (Wally West)

First Appearance:
Crisis on Infinite Earths #12 (March 1986)

Background:
Wally West, originally Kid Flash, hung up his mantle during the first DC Crisis and became the Flash following the death of his uncle Bart during the massive 12 issue arc. Wally was lost during Infinite Crisis while pulling Superboy Prime into another dimension but has recently returned and been named the newest member of the Justice League of America.

Powers & Abilities:

• Super speed
• Molecular control
• Time and dimensional travel
• Ability to run at the speed of sound, augmented by Speed force

The Fight:
While most people would probably give the edge to Flash, Manhunter's abilities shouldn't be completely counted out. A strong fight is ahead and both fighters need your help to get them through to the next round! Cast your vote and see to it that only the best of the best is crowned arena champion!
