In Joe Quesada's "Cup of Joe" on MySpace Comic Books last week, he got an interesting piece of mail from someone asking him a very special favor. Here's what the message was:
Hey Joe, could you create a new symbiote character for Spider-Man to fight?
Joe's reply?
...hmmm…let me think about it for a second.
Okay, you got it!
Apparently, he wasn't kidding around. Coming to an Amazing Spider-Man comic near you this June is Anti-Venom! Wondering what the hell an Anti-Venom looks like? Take a peek ... Read More

I've been listening to some of the podcasts from the recent NYCC and trying to find some clues regarding some of the biggest titles coming out of DC. I'm talking, of coarse, about Batman R.I.P. and Final Crisis. That being said, I think I'm finally ready to unveil my pick for the first Final Crisis casualty that's been confirmed to happen in the first issue of the crossover event. Strap yourselves in but avoid this post if you're not a fan of ... Read More

When I started rambling about Warren Ellis leaving Thunderbolts, one of the guys from my local shop gave me a really great piece of advice that I've since given great consideration:
"Don't follow titles. Follow the writer."
Lately, with that in mind, I find myself wandering from some of the more mainstream titles I normally pick up and venturing into the more independent titles written by people like Warren Ellis and Garth Ennis. This lead me to Black Summer, a title written by Ellis ... Read More

While most people were wrapped up in the...exciting announcement regarding Marvel Apes, one of the bigger announcements from the NYCC went somewhat unnoticed, at least by me anyway, until now. Power Girl is finally getting her own ongoing series.
I'm excited about this for a number of reasons but the biggest would have to be the fact that Power Girl has always appeared to be one of those characters that could be a huge draw for the company if only there was someone ... Read More

*Ding ding ding!*
In this classic installment of Friday Night Fights, we see the value of friendship and sticking to your word. Spider-Man was given a very special message from Rabin's previous victims that he tried to pass off as friends. They asked that Spider-Man deliver the most painful message possible...
...which Spidey promptly agreed to. Read More
