Welcome back one and all to the Awesome Arena. With things moving closer and closer to the semi-finals, Captain America has apparently taken it upon himself to kick it into overdrive by pulverizing DC's Booster Gold! In somewhat of a shocker, Captain America took on Booster Gold and completely wiped the floor with him which means Cap will be moving on to the next round to challenge the winner of today's battle! Wondering what the current ladder looks like? Here's a peek. As for this week, let's take a look at the competitors, shall we?

Combatant #1 - Green Lantern

First Appearance:
Showcase #22 (October 1959)

Background:
Once a aircraft test pilot, Hal Jordan came upon the remains of a crashes alien spaceship that was flown to Earth by Abin Sur. Sur informed Jordan that, since crashing on the planet, he had attempted to locate someone who was honest and born without fear. He located that person in Hal and wished to transfer his Green Lantern status to him. Jordan, being a brave and fearless individual, takes on the role as the new Green Lantern.

Powers & Abilities:

• The Power Ring, capable of constructing almost anything imaginable, is a Green Lantern's greatest tool.

Combatant #2 - Green Arrow

First Appearance:
More Fun Comics #73 (November 1941)

Background:
While traveling on a cruise through the Pacific, playboy Oliver Queen is thrown overboard and washes up a nearby island. Stranded, he uses his time in solitude to train his mind and his body to peak levels and fine tunes his already inhuman marksmanship skills. When the island is raided by drug-runners, Queen defeats them and uses their resources to escape the island. When he returns to his home of Star City, he takes on the role of Green Arrow.

Powers & Abilities:

• Master archer
• Arsenal of trick arrows
• Exceptional martial artist
• Master swordsman

The Fight:
This battle between friends is likely to be the closest fight we've seen in the tournament so far. Lantern is likely a popular favorite but Green Arrow has handled his fair share of villains in the past that looked impossible at times and his marksmanship abilities definitely should not be taken lightly. Could the pair's friendship play a key role in the battle that will be taking place here? Possibly. Of coarse, as usual, it all comes down to you! Make sure you cast your vote and see to it that only the best of the best is crowned arena champion!
