“Women of DC” Promo Poster

Who loves the women of DC? I do! Recently, a promo poster was released to promote the female characters who will apparently play huge roles in the DC Universe in the future.

About this author:

Recently, Adam Hughes was chosen to draw a promo poster for the women who will take prominent roles in the DC Universe within this year which was released at the NYCC (click to enlarge).

Women of the DCU

My first gut reactions:

  • Wow, what an awesome poster!
  • Wait, who are the women on the posters? (I found out, and they are, from left to right, Catwoman, Oracle, Zatanna, Black Canary, Power Girl, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Vixen, Batwoman in the front, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn.)
  • Bit of a shame Renee Montoya and Lois Lane are not there.
  • While we know that Batwoman is a lesbian, why is she the only one confined to pants? Kids, it’s because lesbians wear pants all the time!
  • I’m pretty sure Oracle could afford a new wheelchair. She does have connections to Batman so it is possible for her to have a high-tech wheelchair. Plus one leg is on the floor… she’s paraplegic, remember?

So what do you think of this poster? Yay? Nay? Maybe? Bananas?

I really like it. It’s classy and really shows a number of the women in a much different situation than we’re used to. Love Harley’s staff and Catwoman’s black dress in comparison to the others white ones.

    Really Nice poster. AH rocks!

  4. MidKnight - Yeah, I am disappointed there’s no Huntress.

It’s Lois Lane (not Batwoman) sitting in front… check out the S-Shield ring in her hand…!!!

  6. O rly? I thought it was Batwoman! Because of the red hair, really.

The woman on the chair is Batwoman. If it were Lois Lane she would have a wedding ring on! But the final proof comes from the actual poster which tells who each character is in light grey type at the bottom. It’s listed as Batwoman.

Well, I suppose that settles it then! Thanks for the comment CondoArlik.
