Words can barely describe how crazy this past week in the Awesome Arena has been. First, we had Batman taking on Thor for the first spot in the Tournament of Champions finals and for an encore, Green Lantern took on Superman. Somehow, after a very close battle, the Dark Knight has prevailed over the God of Thunder by a single vote! It’s hard to say if people were voting on this round with their minds or their hearts but one thing is clear: Batman has defeated a number of very difficult opponents, such as Martian Manhunter, Iron Man and now Thor, and has really earned his place at the top of this tournament. Who would be there to challenge him for the grand prize?
Many people believed that Green Lantern was in much too deep to be able to handle a hero of Superman’s level. Despite this initial thought, Hal Jordan has defeated the Man of Steel which means that he’ll be moving right along into the finals to battle Batman! It’s been a pretty rough road for Lantern as he’s had to contend with the likes of Captain America, his close friend Green Arrow and now Superman to get to where he is now. He’s a single win away from being the greatest hero in our tournament. Can he keep it together long enough to best Batman?
