This is it! It’s all come down to the final battle between two of the DC heavyweights. Last week, Batman managed to round up the strength to defeat the God of Thunder in one of two massive upsets. Meanwhile, Green Lantern, much to the dismay of Taylor, defeated Superman and has marched forward to battle the Dark Knight here today. Otherwise, let’s waste no more time and take a closer look at the participants in the final battle!

Combatant #1 - Batman

First Appearance:
Detective Comics #27 (May 1939)

Background:
He’s frickin’ Batman. What else do you need to know? Orphaned as a boy, Bruce Wayne dedicated his life to fighting crime and cleaning up the streets of Gotham City. If you didn’t know this already, please leave. I’m just kidding. Please stay.

• Genius-level intelligence
• Master detective
• Master escapist
• Peak human physical condition
• Martial arts master
• Access to high tech equipment

Combatant #2 - Green Lantern

First Appearance:
Showcase #22 (October 1959)

Background:
Once an aircraft test pilot, Hal Jordan came upon the remains of a crashes alien spaceship that was flown to Earth by Abin Sur. Sur informed Jordan that, since crashing on the planet, he had attempted to locate someone who was honest and born without fear. He located that person in Hal and wished to transfer his Green Lantern status to him. Jordan, being a brave and fearless individual, takes on the role as the new Green Lantern.

Powers & Abilities:

• The Power Ring, capable of constructing almost anything imaginable, is a Green Lantern’s greatest tool.

I’m not going to waste any time this week and talk about this battle. We all know what’s on the line and I’m sure we all understand how important this battle is to not only the Tournament of Champions but the pool as well. As always, this battle comes down to you!
