After months of combat, the Awesome Arena has come to a close with it’s Tournament of Champions. In the first ever tournament, we saw the greatest heroes in comics take to the arena and settle once and for all who was the most powerful character in comics and pop-culture. Ladies and gentlemen, a champion has emerged…

It’s been a pretty rough ride for Batman having been involved in battles with some of the best that the comic book world has to offer as well as some of his close friends in the JLA. In the opening round, Bats took on fellow millionaire Tony Stark. After thoroughly disposing of Iron Man, Batman set his sights on his second opponent, fellow JLA member Martian Manhunter.

While it was a close round for both Manhunter and the Dark Knight, Batman ultimately prevailed over the martian and headed into his next round against one of Marvel’s heavyweights, Thor. Despite a close contest between the two, Batman proved he was the better competitor by defeating Thor by only a couple of votes which sent him into last week’s final round against his friend and fellow JLA member, Hal Jordan. So, while Jordan initially was able to stand up to the Dark Knight, he just couldn’t withstand him in the end. What does this mean? It means that Batman is the first Arena Champion!
