Tournament of Evil - Round 1 (Week 4)

This week in the Tournament of Evil, we’ve got Superman Prime, formerly known as Superboy Prime, taking on the world eater Galactus. We’ve also got Red Skull in combat with The Joker!

Welcome one and all back to the madness that is the Tournament of Evil. I’m in somewhat of a rush this week so I’ll keep things short and get right to the point. When we last witnessed the action inside the Awesome Arena, Green Goblin was being completely taken apart by the super speed of Zoom but, much like I predicted, one carefully placed pumpkin bomb was just enough to give the Goblin the leverage he needed to gain the upper hand and defeat the speedster. In our second round, Doomsday smashed and bashed his way into the next round by completely annihilating Apocalypse! Wondering what the ladder looks like after these violent and brutal competitions? Take a peek. As for this week, we have Superman Prime, formerly Superboy Prime, taking on the devoirer of worlds, Galactus. In our second competition, we have Captain America’s enemy Red Skull taking on the legendary Joker! Enough talking, let’s get to the voting!

    Zoom lost? Hmph. People don’t respect the power of a speedster. :)

    Superman Prime vs. Galactus is a tough one.

    Green Goblin is a lot to handle, even with super speed.

    The battles have been carefully picked so that we’d get to see some of the best battles as opposed to just randomly having people fight. For the second round, things might get shaken up again too!

    Speedsters are cool and everything, but those well placed pumpkin bombs will get you every time.

    My thinking was that Green Goblin seems about equal to any one of the Rogues, no disrespect to either side. Flash handles them the Rogues. Zoom is close to being Flash’s equal and can actually appear to move faster. Therefore, Zoom can handle Green Goblin.

    But, I guess you stop paying attention for just a moment and you’re pumpkin bomb toast :D

    How hungry is Galactus? If he’s famished, Superfag might have a chance. If he’s full, Prime is screwed.

    Galactus is by himself. He’s been in Arena isolation for a couple of days so I’d say he’s got a pretty empty stomach.

    Damnit i’ve missed the bigging of the tournament. I’m not sure how we vote, do we just write who we think will win in their fights here? Ok well, Galactus has the power cosmic but is in constant need to refuel. Superman Prime could wait it out or adjust his power absorbing harnass to absorb the power cosmic from Galactus.

    The Joker vs Red Skull hmm, both pretty nasty and formidable. Except Herr Skull is a total fascist and this makes him predictable. The Joker teeters between madness and genius. Whatever strategy Red Skull has for this fight im sure the Joker will undo. The Joker defintely takes this fight.

    Unfortunately, Weston, this round closed last week. The round you’re looking for is Round 2, Week 1. (Here)

    It’s not too late for you to grab some points and catch up to everyone though. Round 2 matches earn you four points for a correct pick! Not to mention, you spread the word, you get points.

    As for you picks, all you need to do is login and vote. Your picks are all tracked and you earn you points. There’s no verbal description of your picks that’s needed although you’re more than welcome to discuss some things with the other people in the pool through comments if you want to.
