A Couple DC Tidbits

After DC’s “Women in DC” poster, Comics Worth Reading decided to hold a contest asking people to enter a poster of the men in DC. I’ve got to say that this is my favorite:

Men of DC

Drawn by J. Caleb Mozzocco, what I personally love about this one is that there are villains that not only are looking like they’re ready to take over the world with huge dinosaurs and a huge ray gun, but I love the penciled-in coloring! Reminds me of when I was younger and I would always waste my black pencil first from using it color the costumes I drew for my heroes, who strangely enough, looked a lot like sausage people.

Not only that, but “… writer Greg Rucka said that the long-rumored Batwoman comic is forthcoming.Another good opportunity to discover a bit more about a character I know little to nothing about, which I know, is shameful to say. I’ve heard she’s a great character, and I’ve heard that the only reason why she’s known today is simply because she’s a lesbian. Which is shameful on DC’s part. No cookie for you!

Batwoman

Not into Batwoman? That’s cool; you can admire the promo poster. There’s someone about to shoot her, some kind of werewolf-human thing behind her that seems to love the smell of her hair, and even though she’s hit her toe into the table’s leg (you can see the pain in her face!), she still looks good to go.

Trinity - Looks Promising!

Saw a post from MidKnight about Trinity:

Now this title has been a LONG time coming, one must wonder what took them so long to finally do this. Now that they finally have it of course, draws concerns from some fans and excitement to others. One main concern is the art. How will it look? Will it be half-assed or will it be groundbreaking? Secondly the story. When launching a new series it is a MUST to kick it off with a strong story arc, lacking to do so can result in ultimate failure. (Read post)

Wonder Woman in Trinity

Like his posts says, yes, this has taken a long time for them to finally release into the public, so I hope this doesn’t fall flat on its face. That wouldn’t be good for DC. So, written by Kurt Busiek and Fabian Nicieza, comes Trinity! After looking at Superman’s Wolverine-like hair, go to the previews (which was also linked at MidKnight’s blog post); the art looks fantastic. It’s clean and easy on the eyes, and the explosion on the last page looks great (plus you’ve got be wondering why an explosion like that would go off… RIGHT NEXT TO SUPERMAN!).

Though I am a little concerned with Wonder Woman saying “Good. Show yourself, whoever you are. Let’s get started.” She seems just a little too over-confident there, and Wonder Woman would never underestimate her enemy/opposition like that. Let’s just hope this kind of characterisation from Wonder Woman doesn’t carry on in the next issues.

Batman in Trinity

First issue comes out June 4th, and will be a weekly from there on.

So Excited For Final Crisis!

Okay, remember last time how I was speculating what/who she would be fighting? Having a look at the cover for Final Crisis #3, I am SO excited right now.

It’s so close I can almost taste it. Also, from the preview text:

A shadow is falling across Earth’s super heroes — and now it’s Wonder Woman’s turn to face the Evil Gods!

Can anybody say “awesome”? Geoff Johns, I will be anticipating your story very much. Please do not disappoint.

First issue comes out May 28th. EVERYBODY GO GET IT.
