The team of Warren Ellis and Juan Jose Ryp, fresh off of Black Summer, have now returned with their next saga for Avatar comics in the form of No Hero. The title has been getting quite a push from the publisher both on their website and in shops in the form of posters and ads in their other comics but the big question is will it be able to stand on it's own, away from Black Summer, and gather a following? Will ... Read More

Rex tells the story of a former hero cop named Bill Orlowski who, after being framed for a crime he didn't commit and then breaking out of jail, embarks on a mission of personal revenge in a vendetta against those who set him up. While the character's name is actually Orlowski, he goes the much more ferocious and primal name of Rex for most of the story which really fits well with both his mission and his character.
This comic is written and ... Read More

As I've said in the past, I'm really not much of a web comic kinda guy. I follow a very select few comics online and ignore pretty much all of the others. Well, I'm somewhat pleased to say that I've abandoned my semi-elitist ways and embraced another web comic in the form of FreakAngels, a weekly comic written by fan favorite Warren Ellis with artwork by Paul Duffield.
The comic focuses, for the most part, on a small group of people known as ... Read More

*Ding ding ding!*
Having been unable to make it to the fights last week, I'm all fired up this week with plenty of aggression...undead aggression. In this week's Friday Night Fights, from the pages of The Walking Dead, young Duane teaches us that one of the most effective ways to dispose of dead people...
...is also one of the most effective ways kill live ones. Read More

Now that the DC/Wildstorm crossover, Dreamwar, has gotten up to two issues, I think I finally have a good idea of how it is. You know, it's not really all cracked up as I thought it would be. When I saw the cover for the first issue, it looked good. But so far, I have to honestly ask, "What's going on?" So, what is the story so far?
So we've seen the teams from DC be magically transported in the Wildstorm universe, and ... Read More

As for Black Summer, it's just a kick ass comic. Ready for some reviews on full-auto? Let's roll!

When I started rambling about Warren Ellis leaving Thunderbolts, one of the guys from my local shop gave me a really great piece of advice that I've since given great consideration:
"Don't follow titles. Follow the writer."
Lately, with that in mind, I find myself wandering from some of the more mainstream titles I normally pick up and venturing into the more independent titles written by people like Warren Ellis and Garth Ennis. This lead me to Black Summer, a title written by Ellis ... Read More

I think it's really important to get children into comics, because they are after all the people that will carry on this niche market that is so massively popular. So here's something for the kids: Return of the Gremlins.
Gremlins was originally created by Roald Dahl who also wrote other stories for kids like James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda, so you're certain to find something very entertaining for the kids if you buy this. There are ... Read More
