Kick-Ass, the brilliant comic written by Mark Millar, is slowly but surely making its way to the big screen. Some images were released today on newsarama. Check them out.

Obviously I tossed the third pic in for you to compare. the costume looks pretty decent though, aside from the fact that they added a mouth hole on the costume for the movie (little things like that bother me.)

Jeph Loeb Fired From Heroes
November 5, 2008 by Tim Wadephul · 4 Comments
Jeph Loeb and Heroes co-writer Jesse Alexander have apparently been handed their pink slips on the set of Heroes. Here’s the story from Cynthia Littleton of Variety.
Big shakeup on the staff of NBC’s “Heroes” came down on Sunday with the axing of co-exec producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb.
Both scribe-producers had been with the show since its first season and were known to have led the day-to-day production operation under the direction of creator/exec producer Tim Kring.
“Heroes,” produced by Universal Media Studios, has struggled in the ratings its third season.
It’s understood that Alexander and Loeb were let go because of Peacock execs’ frustration with the creative direction of the show. The show is also said to have been grappling with hefty budget overruns this season that are going well beyond its already sizable $4 million per-seg pricetag.
Reps for NBC and UMS declined comment.

Captain America Easter Egg In Hulk Flick?
November 4, 2008 by Andrew Janzen · Leave a Comment
Of course, everyone went to the theater and saw the movie, but no Captain America. The director then changed his claims, saying the scene in question was actually in one of the scenes that was cut from the finished film:
“There’s a point when Bruce Banner gives up on his quest for the cure and decide to kill himself. So he travels far North and reaches the Arctic Circle. You might have seen bits of it in some of the promos. The result was a very dark and strong scene, which Marvel, me and everyone else’s considered to be too hard to young audiences to take, so we’ve cut it. Having that said, when Bruce arrives at his destination he meets up with Captain America! At some point this week, we will make it available on the internet but I cannot tell you where or when and the material will definitely be on the DVD.”
Well now the DVD is out and our friends at FilmSchoolRejects went through the deleted scenes frame by frame. The result is the screenshot of the Captain buried in the Arctic. If you look closely you can see his shield. I’ve been told its much clearer on the blu-ray disc, but no one has been able to do a HD screen capture yet.

Personally I was on the fence about getting the Incredible Hulk DVD, but after hearing and seeing the easter egg in I was psyched to see that they even would bother with Captain America again. I was happy enough that they put his shield into Iron Man, never mind Hulk.
Though no information has been released yet, I am beginning to gain much interest in the upcoming Cap film, The First Avenger: Captain America which is slated to be out in 2011.
POA @ The Movies: The Dark Knight

It’s here people.
It’s here and it’s amazing.
Fresh off my visit to the local theater to see the latest entry into DC’s comic movie archive and I’m pleased as can be with what I got out of the trip. What exactly did I get? Fantastic acting, a wonderful story with intelligent and well constructed lines and dialog, handfuls of action and one of the greatest performances that an actor could give, especially with it being his final role. Yes, The Dark Knight was, as many people suggested and thought it would be, one of the greatest comic-to-movie adaptations to date.
That’s not to say that it was perfect, it certainly had it’s flaws. It’s ultra-dark and bleak story is sure to turn some casual moviegoers off but, for the most part, us comic book nerds will be right at home with the flick as it really defines what Batman is to Gotham City, it’s citizens and, most importantly, to Bruce Wayne himself. Heath Ledger’s Joker is the definitive view of exactly what the character should appear as on the big screen. Looking back, it’s really hard to think of someone else who could have played the role as well as he did and it’s a shame that we won’t be able to see him in any future Batman movies or really anything on the silver screen at all for that matter. I would definitely say that his work deserves some sort of nomination and even an award. Aaron Eckhart’s performance as Two-Face, which for the most part has been avoided for the promotion of the movie, shines in it’s own unique, disgusting way, in it’s own time. All the characters are really given their time in the spotlight and they all use it very wisely thanks the the careful and precise timing of the film’s screenplay writer and director Christopher Nolan.
As much as Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart have been hogging the spotlight for this movie, Christian Bale has been somewhat overlooked and even forgotten in most cases. That being said, while Batman himself might appear much less than he did in the previous film, Bale still performs rather well and really establishes himself as one of the best actors to toss on the cape and cowl…even if he does the annoying raspy thing with his voice when he’s getting batty.
The whole package that is The Dark Knight blends together so nicely that it almost seems too good to be true. However, it’s not. It’s just a damn good movie and that’s all there is to say about it. Go see it. You’ll laugh, you’ll scream, you’ll cringe but, most of all, you’ll cheer for The Dark Knight.
The Dark Knight
9.2 out of 10 stars
